Welcome Home Event for OEF/OIF/OND

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, TDVA attended the Welcome Home Event for Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn.

Morgan’s Wonderland served as the host sponsor for the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) and invited Active Duty Service Members, Veterans, and their families. It was a great opportunity for all veterans and service members to connect and receive information from 26 organizations about their benefits and special ongoing programs in recreation, education, healthcare, and housing. There was live music provided by the Alamo Marching Band, food, games, and prizes. The Opening Ceremony Included an Army Color Guard and a drill performance by the Robert E. Lee Jr ROTC Drill Team and had remarks by Gordon Hartman, CEO of Morgan’s Wonderland and Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center Director Marie L. Weldon. Several hundred people attended the event which had 11 corporate sponsors.
