Tour De Gruene

This cycling event began and ended in Gruene, Texas. Gil was supported by SAG (Search And Gather) staff member, Diana Lozano along the 50 mile bike route. Gil rode a hand cycle and Brian rode as his able bodied partner. The Texas Disabled Veterans Association was the lead sponsor and both riders jerseys. Gil’s goal was to ride and raise awareness of all DISABLED VETS as well as to get out in the community and be a role model for other wounded soldiers. As a disabled veteran, Gil’s perseverance shows you can still live an active and fit life. Hand cycling is a training tool that Gil uses to motivate and inspire other disabled veterans to participate in community events such as the Tour De Gruene.
