Spinal Cord Injury Christmas

Texas Disabled Veterans Association had it's Christmas at the Spinal Cord Injury Unit in Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital on December 15, 2015. Giving away over 100 presents to Patients and Staff. Thanks to the donations of some very special people we have been able to keep this tradition alive since 2009. It's just our way of saying thank you to those that give and have given so much.  Merry Christmas to all and may God Bless.

Adopt a Veteran Gift Baskets

On December 11, 2015 TDVA Donated 10 Christmas Baskets designed to feed ten people per basket. This Adopt a Veteran program was started last year and is thus far a big success. The Social workers at the Veterans Administration identify Veterans and their families first, then individual Veterans that might not have a Christmas dinner. The connection is made and the Baskets/Dinners are given out to those most in need. A special thank you to all those that give to our organization so that we can give back to all those that need it most this holiday season. Each basket contains: 1 box potatoes, 1 stuffing, 1 mac & cheese, 1 can cranberry, 1 can sweet corn, 1 corn bread mix, 1 brown gravy mix, 1 bag pinto beans, 1 ready crust pan, 1 can leaf pie filling and $25.00 gift card for ham or turkey, God Bless.

Thanksgiving Bake Sale

On Friday November 20, 2015 the Audie L. Murphy VAVS Committee hosted the VA Bake Sale at ALMVHS, 100% of the proceeds go directly to a fund that is set up to help Veterans with personal  items that they often need while visiting the hospital. These same Veterans also have needs, such as reading glasses, undergarments, warm cloths, bus passes for their appointments, phone cards to call loved ones, toiletries and many other basic items we often take for granted. The baked items that the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi provide are the hallmark that everyone looks for now with this event. Everything they do is personnel and done with a touch of love, God Bless.
